Custom should mean you chose every detail.
“I designed this!” That's the feeling we're after.
Too often, a custom hat means picking from a handful of finished looks. The Curated Brim works the other way around. We do the first edit, sourcing hats and finishing details that work beautifully together, and then hand the creative decisions to you.
Based in North Carolina, we pop up at markets, wineries and partner venues, travel to private events, and meet one-on-one virtually. Wherever we set up, we want it to be an experience to remember: relaxed, hands-on and fun, with a hat at the end that reflects your style.
How much does a custom hat cost?
Most finished hats fall between $150 and $200, depending on the hat you choose. Your bands, ribbons, feathers and branding are all included, so you won't be charged for every little detail. A few premium bands may be available for an additional charge.
What styles and colors do you offer?
Rancher and cowboy-inspired felt hats in light brown, beige, off-white, espresso and black.
Can I add initials or a symbol?
Yes, and we highly encourage it! Branding is technically optional, but it's our favorite part. Pick your initials or a symbol from our branding stamps, and your hat officially carries your signature.
How do virtual appointments work?
You book a time and join virtually. We show you the hats and details up close, you make the choices, and we finish your hat and ship it to you. A $25 non-refundable deposit reserves your time and is deducted from your final hat price.
What is your refund policy?
Every hat is customized to your choices, so all sales are final. We don't offer refunds, returns or exchanges, so take your time choosing your details before we finish your hat. If a shipped hat arrives damaged, let us know within 3 days and we'll make it right. See our full policies for details.
Can I bring my own hat?
Not at this time. Every experience starts with a hat from our curated collection, so we can stand behind the fit and finish of what you create.
Can I restyle a hat I already made with you?
Absolutely! Ready for a new look? Bring back the hat you made with The Curated Brim and restyle it with fresh bands, ribbons and details for $25. Premium bands may be available for an additional upcharge.
Do you offer men's or children's hats?
Not yet. Our current collection doesn't include men's or children's hats, but we hope to add them in the future. Follow along on Instagram to hear when they arrive.
How many people do you need for a private event?
We travel for private events of four or more guests making hats. Tell us your expected group size when you inquire and we'll plan the setup around it.
Where do you travel for private events?
Anywhere in North or South Carolina! We're based in North Carolina's Triad, and travel fees may apply for events more than 45 miles away. Share your location when you inquire and we'll include any travel fee in your quote.
When can I book a private event?
We're booking private events from November 2026. Send an inquiry to check your date.
